NDI CameraIO

Support

Turn your iPhone into a Full NDI® camera with manual ISO/shutter/white balance/focus, and a built-in NDI monitor — send and receive, in one app.

How it works

  1. Open NDI CameraIO on an iPhone connected to the same local network (Wi‑Fi) as your NDI source or receiver.
  2. Tap CAMERA and press the NDI button to start sending your camera as a Full NDI stream. Use SS/ISO/WB/FOCUS to switch each setting between AUTO and MANUAL.
  3. Tap MONITOR to discover NDI sources on your network and watch them — no IP addresses or manual setup required.
  4. Use the grid icon to switch the monitor between a single full‑screen source and a 2×2 grid of up to four sources. Tap a tile to open its source picker, which rescans the network the moment it opens.

FAQ

A receiver on my network can't find my iPhone's NDI stream. What should I check?

Make sure the iPhone running NDI CameraIO and the device receiving the stream are on the same local network. NDI discovery uses Bonjour/mDNS, which some guest Wi‑Fi networks and corporate networks block between devices — try a simple home/studio network or a dedicated access point if the stream doesn't appear.

Does NDI CameraIO work over cellular or the internet?

No. NDI is a local‑network protocol — NDI CameraIO only sends and discovers NDI streams on the same local network segment as your iPhone. It cannot reach anything over cellular data or across the open internet.

What does the 0.5x–5x zoom actually use?

NDI CameraIO switches between your iPhone's real ultra‑wide, wide, and telephoto lenses as you zoom, rather than only cropping into a single lens. The exact telephoto multiplier (2x/3x/5x, etc.) depends on your iPhone model, so the on‑screen label always reflects your device's actual optical zoom, measured from its lens hardware.

Why is the monitor limited to a 2×2 grid?

This is a deliberate choice, not a missing feature. Receiving more than four simultaneous NDI streams pushes an iPhone's memory and CPU past what we consider safe for a stable, crash‑free experience — so NDI CameraIO caps the monitor at 2×2 rather than risk occasional crashes at higher counts.

Does NDI CameraIO collect any data?

No. NDI CameraIO has no account, no ads, and no analytics or tracking of any kind — video and audio are sent and received entirely over your local network. See the Privacy Policy for details.

I only need to receive NDI sources, or I need it on iPad too.

Check out NDI Monitor, a free receive‑only app from the same developer that supports both iPhone and iPad. NDI CameraIO focuses on sending (plus a quick built‑in monitor) and is iPhone‑only.
