NDI Monitor

Support

A free, lightweight NDI® multiviewer for iPhone and iPad — watch 1 or 4 network video sources at once, auto-discovered on your LAN.

How it works

  1. Open NDI Monitor on a device connected to the same local network (Wi‑Fi or LAN) as your NDI source(s).
  2. Available sources are discovered automatically — no IP addresses or manual setup required.
  3. Tap a tile and pick a source to connect it, or choose Use Test Pattern to try the app with no NDI source at all.
  4. Use the grid icon in the sidebar to switch between a single full‑screen source and a 2×2 grid of up to four sources.

FAQ

NDI Monitor can't find my source. What should I check?

Make sure the device running NDI Monitor and the device sending the NDI stream are on the same local network. NDI discovery uses Bonjour/mDNS, which some guest Wi‑Fi networks and corporate networks block between devices — try a simple home/studio network or a dedicated access point if sources don't appear.

Does NDI Monitor work over cellular or the internet?

No. NDI is a local‑network protocol — NDI Monitor only discovers and receives sources on the same local network segment as your device. It cannot reach sources over cellular data or across the open internet.

Why does the 2×2 grid look softer than the 1×1 view?

When more than one tile is on screen, NDI Monitor automatically requests each source's lower‑bandwidth proxy stream, since a grid tile is only ever displayed at a fraction of screen size anyway. Switching back to the 1×1 view requests the source's full quality stream.

Can I test the app without a real NDI source?

Yes — pick Use Test Pattern from a tile's source list to fill it with a built‑in color‑bar test signal, in either 1×1 or 2×2 mode.

Does NDI Monitor work on iPad?

Yes, NDI Monitor is a universal app for iPhone and iPad. The interface is landscape‑only on both, matching how it's typically used on a monitor bay or field cart.

Does NDI Monitor collect any data?

No. NDI Monitor has no account, no ads, and no analytics or tracking of any kind — video is received and displayed entirely on your device. See the Privacy Policy for details.

I need to send video the other way — turn my iPhone into an NDI camera.

That's a different app from the same developer: NDI CameraIO, which turns your device into an NDI source instead of a monitor.
